Privacy Policy
Version 2.0 · Last updated: August 8, 2026 · Effective: August 8, 2026
What changed in version 2.0: we now say plainly that Finely reads your connected calendars and stores copies of those events (earlier versions understated this), we list every third-party processor we actually use (adding Anthropic, Google Gemini, Sentry, and Resend), we corrected the Coach section — conversations are processed in real time and we keep no transcript — and we adopted Google's required Limited Use language. This policy also moved to its permanent home at finely.day/legal/privacy.
This Privacy Policy describes how Metric Motion Labs, LLC ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use Finely and ScribbleSync (together, the "Services"). Two commitments up front: we do not sell your data, and photos of your calendars are processed, then discarded — never stored.
1. Who We Are
Finely is an application developed and operated by Metric Motion Labs, LLC, a New Mexico limited liability company. Finely unifies your calendars from Google Calendar, Apple iCloud, and Microsoft Outlook, converts photos of physical calendars into digital events using our ScribbleSync AI parsing technology, and provides AI coaching connected to your goals.
2. Information We Collect and Store
- Account information — your email address and a hashed password (we never store passwords in plain text).
- Calendar provider connections — OAuth tokens for Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook, app-specific credentials for Apple iCloud (stored encrypted with AES-256), and calendar metadata such as calendar names and colors.
- Calendar events — read and write. When you connect a calendar, Finely reads the existing and ongoing events on the calendars you choose and stores copies of them in our database. This is what powers the unified calendar view, scheduling, conflict detection, and the Coach. Finely also writes events to your connected calendars when you confirm a planned event. Synced events remain stored until you delete them, disconnect the calendar, or delete your account.
- Planning content — tasks, goals, goal logs, objectives, priorities, obligations, categories, scheduling preferences, and schedule feedback you create in Finely.
- Calendar photos — images you capture of physical calendars, whiteboards, or planners. These are transmitted for AI parsing, processed in memory, and never written to storage. What we retain is the parse result: the structured events and text extracted from your photo, kept so you can review, correct, and audit what was imported.
- Coach conversations — messages you send to the Finely Coach are processed in real time to generate a response. We do not store a server-side transcript of your Coach conversations.
- Connected app grants (Finely Connect) — if you connect an external application (such as Claude) through our MCP integration, we store the grant record, its approved scopes, and hashed tokens so you can review and revoke access at any time.
- Notifications — your device push token and notification preferences, if you enable notifications.
- Feedback and support — bug reports you submit and beta signup email addresses.
- Usage metrics — counts such as scans performed and events created, plus product analytics via Mixpanel (which you can turn off in Settings).
- Technical logs — server logs for security and reliability, retained for 30 days.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to deliver the core Services: syncing calendars, parsing captured images into events, providing the Coach, displaying your usage, improving the app, keeping your account secure, and offering customer support. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles.
4. Google API Services — Limited Use
Finely's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
In practice this means: Google Calendar data is used only to provide the calendar features you see in Finely — the unified view, scheduling, conflict detection, and the Coach's schedule awareness. We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, we do not use it to train generalized AI or machine-learning models, and humans do not read it except with your explicit consent, for security purposes, to comply with law, or as part of aggregated, anonymized internal operations.
5. Third Parties That Process Data for Us
- Google — authentication and Google Calendar sync.
- Microsoft — Outlook calendar sync via Microsoft Graph.
- Apple — iCloud calendar sync via CalDAV, using app-specific passwords you provide, stored encrypted (AES-256).
- Google Gemini API — AI parsing of calendar photos. Your photo is transmitted to Google's Gemini API to extract events, subject to Google's API terms; we do not store the photo, and we do not permit its use for model training.
- Anthropic — the Finely Coach is powered by Anthropic's Claude API. Your Coach messages and relevant schedule context are processed by Anthropic to generate responses; under Anthropic's commercial API terms this data is not used to train models.
- Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure.
- Google Cloud — application hosting.
- Mixpanel — product analytics. You can opt out in Settings.
- Sentry — crash and error reporting, configured not to send personally identifying information.
- Resend — transactional email (for example, beta invitations and verification messages).
6. Where Your Data Lives
Your data is stored and processed in the United States: our database and authentication run on Supabase in AWS's US West (Oregon) region, and our application servers run on Google Cloud in the US Central (Iowa) region.
7. Data Retention
- Calendar photos: never stored — processed and discarded.
- Parse results (events and text extracted from photos): retained until you delete the associated events or your account.
- Synced and created events, tasks, and goals: retained until you delete them or your account.
- Coach conversations: not retained.
- Account data: retained while your account is active.
- Server logs: purged after 30 days.
- Connected-app grants: retained until you revoke them or delete your account.
- Analytics: subject to Mixpanel's retention standards.
8. Your Choices and Controls
- Delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your data from our systems, including synced calendar events.
- Disconnect calendar providers from Settings, and additionally revoke Finely's access from your Google, Microsoft, or Apple account settings. Google users can review access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Revoke connected apps (Finely Connect grants) — revocation takes effect immediately.
- Opt out of analytics in Settings.
9. Children
Finely is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly.
10. Security
We protect your data with encrypted connections (TLS), hashed passwords, encrypted provider credentials, hashed integration tokens, row-level security in our database, and access controls throughout our infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — but security decisions in Finely are made as if the database will someday be read by an adversary, and designed so that would yield nothing usable.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or in the app. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. Earlier versions were published at elevate625.github.io/legal; this page is now the canonical version.
